The Roe v. Wade Distraction

By Tom Walsh

You've Got To Pick A Pocket Or Two

Once upon a time there was a small town where some big-hearted people had a real big problem.  The main road coming through the mountain pass to their town made a sharp turn at the top of a steep bluff.  Travelers, not knowing the area and frequently traveling a bit too fast to notice, failed to negotiate the turn and crashed into the valley below.

The townspeople raised funds, purchased new fire trucks and ambulances, filling them with the latest in fire-fighting equipment, the jaws-of-life and rappelling gear.  They built a new hospital in town, complete with a state-of-the-art emergency room.  The town council sent rescue workers away for training, ran First Aid classes at the high school, and placed huge warning signs on the road approaching the curve.  But the cars kept crashing.

Everyone was getting weary and even a bit cranky from lack of sleep, but they kept on trying to help.  Then one-day at a Town Meeting the Mayor’s son suggested they build a guardrail at the top of the cliff.  It seemed like a good suggestion, but all the money and resources had already been allocated and the most of the people rejected his idea saying that they just could not take on yet another project.

Every year Pro-Lifer’s raise and spend millions of dollars to fight abortion.  They invest thousands of hours on picket lines, writing letters to congressmen and campaigning for Pro-Life politicians, but 30 some years later Roe v. Wade is still the law of the land.

Meanwhile, our children are being indoctrinated by the public schools, which insist on Planned Parenthood[1] designed K-12 sex ed programs devoid of morality.  Even more demoralizing is the fact that most Catholic Schools are not much different.  The media uses sex to sell their products and holds out sluts like Paris Hilton, Mariah Carey and Britney Spears, for teens to ogle and emulate.

In the Broadway play Oliver, homeless children are taught by Mr. Bumble to work together to distract unwary victims before picking their pockets.  Similarly, as evil as it is abortion has become a distraction from our noticing an even greater evil.

While abortion takes the life of an innocent baby’s life, Sex Ed Programs do much more damage, including promoting more abortions. Diabolical promoters spend billions of dollars corrupting the morals of our children damning them to an eternity in Hell.  Their pornographic curriculum literature directs youth to slick and sleazy internet sites like www.teenwire.com[2] where they use sophisticated brainwashing techniques to break the parental bonds, destroy innocence, promote contraception, sell abortion services, and steal our children’s souls.

The time has come to recognize the distraction of Roe and re-direct all of our resources, to eliminating the Sex Ed programs from our schools.  In other words, its time to build the guard rail.
